How to exclude objects from the WordPress activity log

WP Activity Log includes an exclude objects feature that enables you to exclude specific objects from being logged. This KB entry explains how to configure this option.

IMPORTANT: It is important to note that excluded objects are not logged, and no data is collected. To resume data collection, you’ll need to remove any exclusions configured for that object.

Excluding objects from the WP Activity Log log

First, navigate to WP Activity Log > Settings and then click on the Exclude objects tab, as highlighted in the screenshot below.

Exclude Users: To exclude the activity of specific users from being logged, enter their usernames here. WP Activity Log includes an auto-complete function that makes it easier to find users. Click on Add to add the users to the exclusion list.

Exclude Roles: To exclude the activity of specific roles from being logged, enter the role names here. WP Activity Log includes an auto-complete function that makes it easier to find roles. Click on Add to add the roles to the exclusion list.

Exclude IP Address(es): To exclude activity from specific IP addresses from being logged, enter the IP addresses here. You can also add a range of IPs by listing the lower and upper bounds of the last octet in the following format: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx-xxx. Click on Add to add the IPs to the exclusion list.

Exclude Post Type: To exclude activity related to specific post types from being logged, enter the post type here. WP Activity Log supports both default and custom post types and includes an auto-complete function that makes it easier to find post types. Click on Add to add the post types to the exclusion list.

Exclude Post Status:To exclude activity related to specific post statuses from being logged, enter the post status here. WP Activity Log supports both default and custom post statuses and includes an auto-complete function that makes it easier to find post statuses. Click on Add to add the post statuses to the exclusion list.

Exclude custom post fields: To exclude activity related to specific custom post fields from being logged, enter the custom post field here. Click on Add to add the custom post fields to the exclusion list.

Exclude custom user fields: To exclude activity related to specific custom user fields from being logged, enter the custom user fields here. Click on Add to add the custom user fields to the exclusion list.

Once ready, click on Save Changes to save the exclusions.
