How to change the email address where file changes notifications are sent.

Melapress File Monitor sends an email notification whenever a scan detects file changes. By default, this is sent to the email address configured during the initial configured process, however, it can be changed at any time from the plugin’s settings, along with a number of other options.
First, navigate to File Monitoring > Settings > Notifications

Which file changes do you want to be notified of?

To change the email address notifications are sent to, scroll down to the Where should the plugin send the file changes notification? section and:

  • Use admin email address in website settings: Enable this option to send notifications to the admin email address as configured in the admin WordPress user account
  • Use a different email address: Enable this option to send notifications to the email address you specify. You can include multiple email addresses by separating them with a comma

Additional email settings

Melapress File Monitor includes several email settings that enable you to control how you are notified of file changes. These settings can be configured as follows:

Changes notifications

You can choose which notifications you are notified of. Navigate to the Which file changes do you want to be notified of? section and choose from the following options:

  • Added: Tick this option to be notified whenever the plugin detects that a file has been added
  • Deleted: Tick this option to be notified whenever the plugin detects that a file has been deleted
  • Modified: Tick this option to be notified whenever the plugin detects that a file has been modified

Email report

You can set a limit on the number of file changes (if any) that are included in the email report. By default, this is set to 10 to avoid long emails. However, you can change this number up to 1000.

Number of file changes: Enter the number of file changes you would like included in the email notification. Minimum number of changes is 5 while the maximum number of changes is 1000.

Event notification

You can choose whether Melapress File Monitor sends you an email notification if file changes are detected, if no file changes are detected, or both. Navigate to the When should the plugin send you an email? section and choose from the following options:

  • Send me an email when file changes are detected: Choose this option if you want Melapress File Monitor to send you an email notification whenever file changes are detected. One email notification is sent once the scan is complete.
  • Send me an email even when a scan finishes and no file changes are detected: Choose this option if you want Melapress File Monitor to send you an email notification whenever no file changes are detected. One email notification is sent once the scan is complete.
