WCEU 2024 was a blast –here’s what went down

And in the blink of an eye, after months of preparation and
anticipation, WCEU 2024 is over. It’s an event that the Melapress
team looks forward to every year – our chance to meet in person
for a week of WordPress, team activities, and invariably loads of
food.
This year’s event was held in Torino, a northern city in Bella Italia.
History geeks might be interested to know that Torino was the first
Italian capital and the starting point for the unification of Italy. It’s a
city that oozes culture from every seam, making it a perfect
backdrop for WordCamp Europe.

WordCamp 2024

Like previous years, this year’s edition of WordCamp Europe was
filled to the brim with exciting talks and workshops. A great cast of
speakers headlined the event, offering insights and tips on various
WordPress topics, ranging from sustainability to WordPress
security to AI.

The Melapress Booth

As a proud sponsor of the event, we welcomed many existing and
new customers to our booth. With the entire team present, it was a
great opportunity to learn about our plugins and discuss various
aspects of WordPress.

We are happy to report that we received some great and valuable
feedback from those who visited our booth. The team has already
started scheduling internal meetings to discuss the many gems we
gleaned from the conversations we had. We are happy to report
that exciting changes have already started making their way to the
pipeline.

We also welcomed Matt Mulenweg to our booth – a proud moment
for the team!

WCEU was also a great opportunity to meet our existing partners
and form new relationships and alliances. Furthermore, various
team members held many meetings with different stakeholders,
making for an even more productive weekend.

During the event, we also held our annual WordPress security
survey (the online version is launching soon, so watch this space!).
Many survey participants also opted in for our prize draw, which
saw us give away a GoPro Hero 12 Black, plugin licenses, and an
Amazon voucher. Needless to say, this was a resounding success!

Melapress team day out

With Melapress being a fully remote company, WCEU presents a
unique opportunity for the team to spend some quality time
together. This year, we all went on a historical bike tour around
Torino, where we learned about the city’s rich history.

All tired and hungry, we made our way to an eco farm just outside
the city. Here, we were treated to a typical Italian lunch, which we
enjoyed in a nice breeze.
