How to exclude users & roles from WordPress login security policies
Melapress Login Security allows you to exclude users and roles from any login security policies you set up. This is most applicable when setting up site-wide policies but want to exclude certain users or roles. You can also configure different login security policies for different roles on your WordPress website.
Excluding a user or users from login security policies
To exclude a user or users from login security policies:
- Login to the WordPress dashboard
- Navigate to Login Security > Settings
- To exempt a user from password policies, enter the username in the text field next to Users exempted from password policies
- To exempt a user from inactive users policies, enter the username in the text field next to Users exempted from inactive users policies
- Click Save Changes to save the new settings.
Excluding all users with a role from password policies
To exclude a role from login security policies:
- Login to the WordPress dashboard
- Navigate to Login Security > Settings
- Hover over the tab that has the name Administrator and choose the role you would like to exclude.
- Enable the setting Do not enforce password policies for this role
- Click Save Changes to save the new settings.
If instead, you’d like to configure different policies for users with a specific role, read configuring password policies for specific WordPress roles for more details on how to do so.
