How to install Melapress premium and free WordPress plugins

At Melapress, we develop several free and premium WordPress security and admin plugins. The premium plugins should be downloaded from a personalized link we send you when you buy a plugin.

You can download and install the free plugins on your site from the official WordPress plugins repository.

How to install a Melapress premium plugin

Premium plugins need to be downloaded from Freemius – our licensing service provider. Upon completing the purchase of a premium plugin, you’ll receive an email (sent to the email address used during purchase) with a download link and your license key. If you do not find the email in your inbox, kindly check your Junk/Spam folder.

Alternatively, you can log in to your My Account page, where you’ll find your license keys and download links.

Step 1: Download the plugin .ZIP file to your computer and take note of your license key.
Step 2: Log in to your WordPress dashboard, then navigate to Plugins > Add New
Step 3: Click on Upload Plugin, then click on Choose File
Step 4: In the Open window, select the .ZIP file, then click on Open
Step 5: With the ZIP file selected, click on Install Now

Installing a plugin

Once the plugin is installed, WordPress will ask you to activate the plugin. Click on Activate to activate the plugin.

Once the plugin is activated, it will ask you for your license key. Enter the license key noted down in Step 1 and click on Activate License.

You will need to pre-download the plugin .ZIP file to your local machine. Once you have the .ZIP file, follow the following steps:

Step 1: Connect to your WordPress site via FTP or SSH
Step 2: Navigate to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
Step 3: Extract the downloaded plugin .ZIP file on your computer
Step 4: Upload the extracted plugin folder and files to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
Step 5: When the upload is ready, log in to your WordPress dashboard
Step 6: Click Plugins, and the installed plugin should be shown as installed
Step 7: Click Activate to activate the plugin.
